*****SIGN ON BONUS***** Job Title: Radiology Technologist Reports To: Health Center Administrator Job Summary: Performs routine administrative tasks and radiologic procedures to assist physicians in diagnosing problems.
Qualifications and Requirements: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Job duties may be modified at any time based on business needs.
Essential Job Duties: Performs daily warm up of digital x-ray equipment and DEXA scanner.
Maneuvers, prepares, and instructs patients to undergo the appropriate positions to get accurate images.
Adjusts and operates radiologic equipment and assures processing of digital radiographs.
Erases all digital cassettes.
Ensures all parties have appropriate radiation protection to complete requested procedures and prevent radiation exposure to certain areas of body.
Generates radiology consultation requisitions.
Ensures accurate documentation of radiologic testing.
Prepares and distributes digital radiographs and interpretative reports to ordering providers.
Assists providers in understanding and evaluating images.
Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer's instructions, reporting malfunctions, requesting repairs, maintaining equipment inventory, and evaluating new equipment and techniques.
Maintains supply inventory by anticipating and ordering needed supplies.
Attends and participates in leadership and other staff meetings as needed.
Creates appointments on NextGen.
Establishes relationship with Imaging contractor, to include managing scheduling of appointments and reports for any radiology service provided at site clinic.
Other administrative tasks as needed or requested.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Minimum Qualifications - Education, Experience, Certificates & Licenses: Associate of Science degree (AAS) Certified as a radiology technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
Current Arizona State License as a Radiology Technologist.
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required.
Valid Fingerprint Clearance Card.
Preferred Qualifications - Education, Experience, Certificates & Licenses: Previous experience as radiology technologist or related field strongly preferred.
Required Language Skills: Ability to accurately comprehend and compose instructions, correspondence, and communications in English in both oral and written format.
Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to patients, internal providers and other staff, and external personnel working in cooperation with the organization.
Physical Requirements: Ability to occasionally exert enough force to move objects weighing up to 30 pounds.
Ability to continuously remain in a stationary position.
Ability to constantly move about inside the workplace to assist patients, operate office or medical equipment, etc.
Possesses hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to constantly operate computer, telephone, other office machinery, and medical equipment.
Possesses close visual acuity necessary to accurately record and view information on a computer monitor, handwritten and typed documents.
Ability to discern the nature of sounds at a normal spoken volume.
Possesses a range of body motion and ability to exert enough force to lift and move adult and pediatric patients.
Other Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to perform medical math that may include the use of ratio/proportion, dosage calculation, metric and household equivalents, roman numerals, abbreviations, and general math including percentages, etc.
Ability to draw and interpret graphs.
Ability to skillfully gather and analyze data.
Ability to perform a variety of assignments and make decisions requiring independent judgment.
Ability to resolve challenges and work under pressure.
Displays a high level of critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of HIPAA and Corporate Compliance rules and regulations.
Knowledge of health care plans and community health centers.
Computer literacy required.
Knowledge of Electronic Health Records preferred.
Ability to prioritize and plan work activities, use time efficiently and develop realistic action plans.
Work Environment & Conditions: Work environment is typical of a health clinic setting with occasional exposure to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, and hazardous chemicals.
Work frequently involves use of medical equipment with proximity to electrical current, and exposure to moving mechanical parts and some hazardous chemicals and radiation hazards.
Work frequently requires the use of personal protective equipment to include lead aprons, gloves and other shielding devices.
Work occasionally requires extended hours to include early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
Work requires the ability to be contacted by cell phone during or outside of regular work hours.
