SUMMARY: Functions as a Medical Assistant (MA or CMA) in a team and mission-based setting to provide quality care to serve patients.
Medical Assistant assists in examination and treatment of patients under direction of a licensed physician/provider.
Provides information to patients so they may fully utilize and benefit from the clinic services.
Assists with patient appointment scheduling and patient chart management.
Assists in the provision of quality patient care and may be assigned to work at either clinic location as needed (i.
e.
Sunsites or Willcox).
Participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities.
This position may be asked to work at other hospital district sites as needed.
Perform any other duties needed to help drive our Vision, fulfill our Mission, and abide by our Organization's Values.
Must have proof of completion from an approved Medical Assistant Training Program to apply and active BLS/CPR Certification from American Heart Association.

Supervision Received: Works under the direct supervision of the Director of Clinics or designated administrator.
Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Completion of an approved Medical Assistant Training Program**, Required.
NOTE: ** Approved medical assistant training program means a program accredited by one of the following: The Commission of Accreditation of Allied Health Programs or The Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools.
Medical Assistant experience preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) through National Healthcareer Association (NHA), Preferred
Current BLS/CPR Certificate required
NOTE: We only accept BLS/CPR certified by American Heart Association (AHA) - must maintain current certification and recertify prior to expiration date.
Proof of completion from an approved Medical Assistant Training Program required.
Proof of completion of "Qualification Training on Urine Specimen Collections" preferred.
Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of HIPAA privacy requirements and medical terminology.
Required knowledge of medical terminology, and clinical standards, practices, and procedures.
Basic knowledge of ICD-9/CPT coding.
Skills in phlebotomy, injections, etc.
Establish and maintain solid working relationships through communication, cooperation, and positive interactions with all patients/clients, employees, staff, providers, and vendors.
Willingness to work a flexible schedule when circumstances necessitate.
Demonstrated ability to self-motivate and work independently with limited supervision.
Strong customer service skills along with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Positive communication skills; ability to successfully interact with all customers; continuous demonstration of courteous, cooperative and service orientated behavior.
Supports and maintains a culture of safety, quality and positive patient experience.
Strong typing skills and working knowledge of computer systems particularly with a windows based environment.
Ability to communicate effectively with customer and co-workers, and multi-task.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
