As an Optometric Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting the optometrist in delivering high-quality eye care services.

```Responsibilities```
- Greet and check-in patients, ensuring a warm and welcoming environment
- Collect patient information, including medical history and reason for visit
- Perform preliminary tests such as measuring visual acuity, intraocular pressure, and visual field testing
- Assist with contact lens fittings, including insertion and removal instructions
- Prepare examination rooms and ensure all necessary equipment is ready for use
- Clean and maintain ophthalmic instruments and equipment
- Schedule appointments and manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Epic
- Provide administrative support, including answering phone calls, verifying insurance coverage, and processing payments
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality
```Experience```
- Previous experience working in an optometry or medical office setting is preferred
- Knowledge of optical terminology, procedures, and equipment
- Familiarity with medical coding and billing processes
- Understanding of basic physiology related to eye health
- Proficiency in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems, such as Epic
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills and ability to provide exceptional patient care
- Basic understanding of retail math for processing payments
